Pregnancy Birthlight Yoga

Six week blocks

Birthlight Yoga for Maternity aims to enhance women’s comfort during pregnancy and labour and to reduce the need for medical intervention in childbirth with carefully selected and tested adaptations of yoga.

Birthlight Yoga, inspired by Amazonian rainforest midwives and women, has been developed in collaboration with midwives over 20 years.  It values the physical and emotional nurturing of pregnant women so that they can approach labour and birth with calm confidence.

What do I need to bring/wear?

  • Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket and a pillow.  I have some spares but not enough for everyone!

  • We will use birth (exercise) balls some weeks, but I will let you know when to bring them. Again, I have a couple spare but do advise you to purchase your own.

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move freely in.
